SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS:
The scholarship provides financial assistance to cover various educational expenses, including tuition, books, and other related costs. The exact award amount varies annually based on available funding and the student's demonstrated financial need.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:

• Be between 17 and 22 years old at the time of application.
• Be a dependent child of a worker who was killed or seriously injured in a compensable work-related accident or occupational disease with a Massachusetts employer.
• Demonstrate financial need for post-secondary education.
• Have been accepted to or are currently enrolled at a university, college, or technical school.
• Pursue a degree as a full-time student. Part-time students may be considered at the discretion of the scholarship committee and depending on available funds.
• For those attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university, completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS:
The scholarship supports students enrolled in various post-secondary educational programs, including:

• Two-year community colleges
• Four-year colleges and universities
• Technical and vocational schools

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
Applicants need to submit the following:

• A completed Kids' Chance Scholarship Application, including student, family, and educational institution contact information.
• If attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university: a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) received after completing the FAFSA, showing the Student Aid Index (SAI).
• A brief description of the applicant's educational and career goals and how the scholarship will support these objectives.
• Proof of the compensable injury, illness, or death claim, such as a determination letter from the state workers' compensation board.
• Optional: Letters of recommendation.
