The University of Technology and Arts of Byumba (UTAB), in partnership with Chancen International Rwanda, is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for students who wish to join UTAB for the May 2025 intake. This partnership offers financial support through the Chancen Income Share Agreement (ISA) model, a “Study Now, Pay Later” program. This unique funding model allows students to focus on their studies without worrying about tuition fees. Once you complete your studies and begin working, you will pay back a portion of your income, making higher education more accessible and affordable.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

• Must be a Rwandan citizen
• Completed secondary school (A-Level or equivalent)
• Must have an Advanced Secondary School Certificate or diploma with at least 60% marks or equivalent marks of 36/60 for the students graduated before 2024
• Must have two principal passes
• Interested in studying at UTAB in one of the eligible programs •
• Passionate about climate change, sustainability, or education •
• Committed to using your skills to help your community and country

• English-Kinyarwanda
• English-Kiswahili
• English-French
• History-Economics
• Mathematics-Computer Science
• Mathematics-Biology
• Mathematics-Geography
• Biology-Geography

2. Faculty of Agriculture, Environmental Management and Renewable Energy (options):
• Renewable Energy
• Management of Forest Plantations and Natural Ecosystems

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Copy of National ID or Passport
• Advanced Secondary School Certificate or equivalent
• Academic transcripts • National ID or proof of Rwandan citizenship

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

All students who get accepted must meet the requirements of Chancen’s Income Share Agreement. Before the academic year starts, selected students will also need to attend an ISA Workshop to understand how the financial model works and what is expected from them.
