The Dalarna University Scholarships in Sweden provide a great opportunity for international students outside the EU/EEA who want to pursue master’s programs. These scholarships help reduce tuition fees by up to 50% and include a special “Choose Dalarna First” award that gives about $500 off the first semester for students who list Dalarna University as their top choice. The scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, motivation, and future goals, making it easier and more affordable for talented students to study in Sweden.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
• Tuition fee reduction of up to 50% for Master’s degree programs.
• Special “Choose Dalarna First” scholarship giving approximately $500 off the first semester tuition.
• Opportunity to receive Academic Excellence Scholarships for continuing students, awarding between $1,000 to $9,000 per semester depending on the program and performance.
• Some programs offer additional graduation bonuses for top-performing students.
• Scholarships help make tuition more affordable but do not cover living expenses or other costs.
• Access to exclusive scholarship awards reserved for non-EU/EEA international students applying to Dalarna University.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
For New (Incoming) Master’s Students:
• Must be a non-EU/EEA (tuition-paying) international student.
• Must apply to a campus-based Master’s program at Dalarna University.
• Must rank Dalarna University as your first choice on UniversityAdmissions.se.
• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree that meets the entry requirements.
• Must meet English language proficiency (e.g. IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90).
• Must not have previously received a Dalarna University scholarship.
For Continuing (Enrolled) Students – Academic Excellence Scholarship:
• Must have completed at least one semester of a full-time Master’s program at Dalarna University.
• Must be continuing in the same program for at least one more semester.
• Must have earned 30 credits with strong grades (no fails).
• Must achieve high academic performance (e.g. at least 50% top grades).
• Must be officially assessed as outstanding by your faculty.

• Business Studies (with Marketing or International Business focus).
• Economics.
• Tourism Destination Development.
• Sustainable Tourism Management.
• Solar Energy Engineering.
• Energy-Efficient Built Environment.
• Global Sexual and Reproductive Health.
• Materials Engineering.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
• A CV (Curriculum Vitae) showing academic background, work experience, and relevant skills.
• A 60-second motivational video explaining why you should receive the scholarship (uploaded via a shareable link like Google Drive or Dropbox).
• Bachelor’s degree certificate (for Master’s program applicants).
• Official academic transcripts from previous university studies.
• Proof of English proficiency (e.g. IELTS or TOEFL score report).
• Copy of passport or national ID.
• Any additional documents required by the specific master’s program.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
1. Apply for Admission:
• Visit University application portal.
• Apply for a full-time, campus-based master’s program at Dalarna University.
• Rank Dalarna University as your first choice.
• Upload all required admission documents (degree, transcripts, English test, etc.).
2. Apply for the Scholarship:
• Fill out the online scholarship application form. Using the link at the bottom of this page.
• Upload your CV (résumé).
• Record a 60-second motivational video, upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox, and include the shareable link in the form.
3. Submit Both Applications:
• Make sure both your university admission and scholarship application are submitted before the deadline.
4. Wait for the Results:
• The scholarship selection committee will evaluate your academic records, motivation, and program choice.
• If selected, your name will appear on the official scholarship result list (usually published around November 1).
5. Receive Your Award:
• If awarded, the scholarship amount will be automatically deducted from your tuition fees for the first semester.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Scholarships are only for tuition fees. They do not cover living costs, travel, accommodation, or other expenses.
• You must still prove financial ability to support yourself for the Swedish residence permit.
• Scholarships are competitive and based on academic performance, motivation, and program relevance.
• You cannot combine this scholarship with another tuition-fee scholarship, like the Swedish Institute (SI) Scholarship.
