The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) is inviting applications for the KDU Global – IUCEA Undergraduate Full and Partial Scholarships 2026 (6th Cohort – Round 2). This life-changing opportunity allows talented students from the East African Community (EAC) member states to pursue undergraduate studies in South Korea at Kyungdong University (KDU) Global. The program is designed to empower young East Africans with quality international education, equipping them with the knowledge and global exposure needed to contribute to regional development.

The IUCEA, a key institution of the East African Community (EAC), is dedicated to coordinating higher education and research among EAC partner states. Through collaboration with Kyungdong University (KDU) Global, a fully accredited private university in South Korea, IUCEA offers this scholarship to promote academic excellence, cultural exchange, and regional integration. The initiative supports bright students from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Somalia.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Full Scholarships (Limited Seats Available)
The full scholarship covers:
• Full tuition fee of $8,000 per year for 4 years (by KDU Global)
• Dormitory fee of $4,400 for the first two years (by KDU Global)
• Return air ticket at the beginning and end of four years (by IUCEA)
• Monthly health insurance support for 4 years (by IUCEA)
• Application processing and handling fee ($250) after selection (by IUCEA)

Partial Scholarships
Partial scholarships require students/parents to cover personal expenses (accommodation, airfare, insurance, etc.), while KDU Global provides tuition waivers:
• 1st Semester: Full tuition waiver of $4,000 (by KDU Global)
• 2nd Semester Onwards: Scholarship based on academic performance:
I. 100% scholarship for average mark ≥ 95
II. 70% scholarship for 90–94 (student pays $1,200)
III. 50% scholarship for 80–89 (student pays $2,000)
IV. 30% scholarship for 75–79 (student pays $2,800)

Note: Students are allowed to work part-time in South Korea. Over 99% of KDU Global students hold part-time jobs with university support.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Be a citizen and resident of an EAC partner state (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, DRC, or Somalia).
• Have completed pre-university education in 2023, 2024, or 2025.
• Have excellent academic performance with at least a ‘B’ in Mathematics and English.
• Hold an English proficiency certificate (IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 71 or higher).
• Be 22 years old or younger.
• Provide a valid bank statement and balance certificate of a sponsor:
o Full Scholarship: Minimum balance of USD 5,000
o Partial Scholarship: Minimum balance of USD 16,000
(Sponsor must be the applicant or parents. Siblings accepted only if parents are deceased.)

3. Bachelor of Smart Computing (Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Science, Cybersecurity, IoT)
4. Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence
Program Duration: 4 years / 8 semesters
Expected Commencement: March 2026
