The University of Gitwe is pleased to announce a call for applications for its General Nursing academic programs. All interested and competent Rwandan students are invited to apply online for programs designed to equip future healthcare professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills in nursing. Through a partnership with Chancen International, eligible students can benefit from student financing under the Income Share Agreement (ISA), a “Study Now, Pay Later” model. This partnership ensures that students can focus on their studies and begin repayment only after securing employment and earning an income. The University of Gitwe, in collaboration with Chancen International, is committed to providing accessible and flexible financing solutions to support talented students in pursuing nursing education.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Advanced Diploma in General Nursing

·       Candidates with an Advanced Certificate from 2024 must have a general average of at least 60%, with at least grade "S" in Chemistry and Biology, or in Fundamentals of Nursing and Clinical Attachment for Associate Nurse Certificate holders.

·       Candidates with Advanced Certificate before 2024 must have at least grade D in Chemistry and Biology, or a valid license to practice issued by NCNM, and at least grade C- in Fundamentals of Nursing, Introduction to Anesthesia, and Practical Examination (for Associate Nurse Certificate holders before 2008).

Bachelor of Science with Honours in General Nursing Sciences

·       Candidates with Advanced Certificate from 2024: general average ≥ 60% with at least grade "E" in Chemistry and Biology, or grade "E" in Fundamentals of Nursing and Clinical Attachment for Associate Nurse Certificate holders.

·       Candidates with Advanced Certificate before 2024: grade C in Chemistry and Biology, or valid NCNM license, and grade C+ in Fundamentals of Nursing, Introduction to Anesthesia, and Practical Examination (for Associate Nurse Certificate holders before 2008).

Bachelor of Science with Honours in General Nursing by Credits Transfer (Upgrading)

·       Must hold an A1 Certificate in Nursing from a recognized Higher Learning Institution in Rwanda or abroad (with equivalence from HEC).

·       Must have a valid license to practice as a registered nurse issued by NCNM.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

·       Admission to the University of Gitwe does not automatically guarantee financial support.

·       Candidates granted financial support under Chancen’s ISA will be officially notified in collaboration with Chancen International and the University of Gitwe.
