JOB OPPORTUNITIES AT CHUB
The Central University Hospital of Butare (CHUB) invites qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and efficient medication management while supporting clinical services, research, education, and training within the hospital. The pharmacist will report directly to the Head of Department (HOD) – Pharmacist.
Recruitment will include a Psychometric Test, Written Exam, and Oral Interview.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
· Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
· Good knowledge of the Rwanda Health System
· Knowledge of clinical services policies and procedures
· Proficiency in English and French
· Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
· Digital literacy and time management skills
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
· 1 Position: Pharmacist
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Medication Management and Clinical Services
· Review and interpret physician orders to prepare medications and detect therapeutic incompatibilities.
· Compound, package, label, and dispense pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
· Monitor drug therapies and advise on necessary interventions.
· Maintain extemporaneous preparations and radiopharmacy services according to professional standards and hospital policies.
· Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify preparation, labeling, and order entries.
· Provide pharmacological information to healthcare professionals and counsel patients on drug use.
· Ensure timely delivery of dispensed drugs.
· Maintain patient medication profiles and monitor for drug interactions, allergies, and incompatibilities.
· Ensure compliance with the 7 Rights of Medication Administration (right patient, right dose, right route, right time, right drug, right information, and right documentation).
· Operate automated pharmaceutical databases for updated information and drug control.
· Ensure proper storage, rotation, re-ordering, and disposal of pharmaceuticals.
· Prevent stock-outs and oversee financial performance related to pharmacy operations.
2. Research, Education, and Training
· Participate in training pharmacy interns, students, and other healthcare professionals.
· Engage in continuous professional development through conferences, seminars, and scientific journals.
· Support clinical programs and capacity-building initiatives within the hospital.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

· Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
· Copy of Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
· Proof of relevant work experience (minimum 3 years)
· Copy of National ID
· Any other supporting professional certificates
