ITALIAN GOVERNMENT FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIPS 2026-2027 (MAECI)
Applications are now open for the prestigious Italian Government Scholarships (MAECI) for the academic year 2026-2027. This fully funded initiative invites foreign students and Italian citizens living abroad to pursue Masters, PhD, and advanced research programs in Italy. Offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), these scholarships aim to foster international cooperation in cultural, scientific, and technological fields, promote Italian language and culture, and support Italy’s global economic engagement. Grants are available for study or research in public or legally recognized Italian universities and institutions.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
· Full scholarship covering enrollment and tuition fees.
· Health and medical/accident insurance contracted by MAECI.
· A total grant of €9,000, disbursed in three installments:
o 1st installment: €4,500
o 2nd installment: €2,500
o 3rd installment: €2,000
· Opportunity to study in Italy and access world-class academic and cultural resources.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must:
· Be a foreign student or an Italian citizen living abroad.
· Hold a valid passport or identity card and upload a legible copy during registration.
· Possess academic qualifications required to enroll in the chosen Italian program.
· Meet age requirements:
o Master’s/Higher Education in Arts, Music, Dance, and Italian Language & Culture courses: 18–28 years
o PhD Programs: 18–30 years
o Research Projects under academic supervision: 18–40 years

· Italian Language and Culture advanced courses
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
· Valid passport or identity card (photocopy uploaded during registration)
· Academic qualifications supporting admission eligibility
· Other documents as requested by the Study in Italy portal during application

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
· No IELTS or other English language test is required.
· Grants support international cooperation and cultural exchange.
· Health insurance is valid exclusively for the duration of the scholarship.
· The scholarship duration and start date are determined in the “Dichiarazione di assegnazione di borsa di studio” (Awarding Letter).
