The Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (RICA) is now accepting scholarship applications for passionate individuals eager to make a lasting impact in Rwanda’s agricultural transformation. SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS :
At the Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (RICA), every student admitted benefits from a comprehensive three-year scholarship. This scholarship is designed to fully support students throughout their academic journey by covering all essential costs, including:

• Tuition fees,
• Medical insurance,
• On-campus accommodation, and
• Meals.

This commitment ensures that students can focus entirely on their education and personal development without financial barriers, fostering an environment for academic excellence and holistic growth.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS:
The available fields of study for the Bachelor of Science in Conservation Agriculture program at RICA (Rwanda Institute of Conservation Agriculture) include:

• Animal Production
• Crop Production
• Irrigation and Mechanization
• Food Processing

Students can choose one of these specialties, with a focus on sustainable farming practices, soil health, biodiversity, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship. The program also incorporates business skills like leadership, entrepreneurship, and communications.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for admission and Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Nationality: Must be a Rwandan citizen.
2. Examination Year: Completed the national examination in 2024.
3. Demonstrated Leadership and Entrepreneurship Potential: Candidates should exhibit strong leadership qualities and a clear interest in entrepreneurship.
4. Agriculture and Conservation: Shows a genuine passion for agriculture and conservation practices.
5. English Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English to support their academic success.
6. Academic Performance: Achieved a minimum score of 70% on the national examination.
7. Subject Combinations or Trades: Studied one of the following combinations or vocational trades:

Subject Combinations:
• MPG: Math, Physics, Geography
• PCM: Physics, Chemistry, Math
• MEG: Math, Economics, Geography
• MCE: Math, Computer Science, Economics
• MPC: Math, Physics, Computer Science
• MCB: Math, Chemistry, Biology
• PCB: Physics, Chemistry, Biology
• BCG: Biology, Chemistry, Geography

Vocational Trades:
• Animal Health
• Food Processing
• Crop Production
• Forestry

For Applicants with International Qualifications:
Candidates who completed secondary education under international education programs, such as Cambridge or International Baccalaureate (IB), are encouraged to apply. Such applicants must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
For the RICA application, the required documents are:

1. National ID
2. Scanned copies in JPEG or PDF format of the National Examination Results (A’level results from REB, Rwanda TVET Board, or an equivalence certificate from NESA for those with foreign qualifications)
3. documents may include:
Any other relevant documents that may support your application (e.g., certificates, recommendation letters, etc.). These are typically not mandatory but can enhance your application if applicable.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
1. To begin your application, please create an account using your email address and a password using the Scholarship link given at the bottom of this page.
2. If you need to return to your application at a later time, simply log in with the credentials you created. If you forget your password, click on the "Forgot Password" link to reset it.
3. In the application form, all fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory. Be sure to click Save to save your progress and Next to move to the next section. You can log in later to complete your application if needed.
4. Only click Submit when you have fully completed your application and are ready to submit it. Please note that once submitted, your application cannot be edited.
5. After successful submission, you will receive an email notification confirming that your application has been successfully submitted.

IMPORTANT DATES:

• Admission Decision and Scholarship Offer: March 2025

Admission applications are open from December 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. Submit your application online before the deadline to secure your spot at RICA.
