SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To qualify for the Deakin RTP & DUPR Scholarships 2026, applicants must:

·       Hold a strong academic record (Honours degree or Master’s with research component)

·       Be applying for or enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program

·       Be an international or domestic student from any country

·       Meet Deakin University’s English language proficiency requirements

·       Not hold another equivalent scholarship funded by the Commonwealth

·       Demonstrate strong research potential and academic excellence

Scholarships are available across a wide range of research fields, including:

·       Faculty of Health

·       Faculty of Arts and Education

·       Faculty of Business and Law

·       Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment

·       Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM)

·       Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute (A2I2)

·       Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation (IISRI)

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:

·       Academic transcripts and certificates

·       Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)

·       Research proposal (developed with a supervisor)

·       Two academic or professional referee reports

·       Proof of English language proficiency

·       Publications (if available)

·       Passport copy (for international applicants)

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

The application process involves several key steps:

1.     Confirm eligibility and review program entry requirements

2.     Identify and contact a suitable supervisor at Deakin University

3.     Obtain supervisor agreement for your research topic

4.     Prepare a detailed research proposal in consultation with your supervisor

5.     Collect referee reports from academic or professional referees

6.     Submit the online application through the Deakin HDR application portal

7.     Upload all required supporting documents before submission

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

·       Scholarships are highly competitive and awarded based on academic merit and research potential

·       Early contact with a supervisor significantly increases chances of success

·       Applications without supervisor approval are not considered

·       Both Master’s by Research and PhD candidates are eligible
