Officially known as the Prof. Stefan Banach Scholarship Programme, this initiative is administered by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The program aims to strengthen socio-economic development by equipping students with high-quality education and global exposure.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

The NAWA Banach Scholarship is fully funded and provides:

· Monthly stipend of PLN 2,500

· Full tuition fee waiver at public universities

· One-time international travel allowance

· Optional fully funded preparatory course in Polish language

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must:

· Hold a bachelor’s degree or be in their final semester

· Have graduated no earlier than 2024

· Not have previously received a NAWA scholarship

· Not hold or be applying for Polish citizenship

· Meet the required language proficiency (English or Polish)

· Apply simultaneously to a Polish public university

The scholarship supports Master’s Degree (Second-cycle studies) in various fields, including:

· Agriculture and Natural Sciences

· Life Sciences

· Environmental Studies

· Social Sciences (selected programmes)

Note: Priority is given to development-focused fields.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants are required to prepare:

· Academic transcripts

· Bachelor’s degree certificate (or proof of final semester)

· Language proficiency certificate (English or Polish)

· Video self-presentation (1–3 minutes)

· Optional recommendation letter

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Follow these steps to apply:

1. Choose a Study Programme
Select a master’s programme at a public university in Poland

2. Apply to the University
Submit a separate application directly to your chosen university

3. Submit NAWA Application
Apply through the official NAWA online portal

4. Prepare Required Documents
Ensure all documents are complete and meet requirements

5. Await Results
Applications will be evaluated based on academic merit and other criteria

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Study Options (Language Paths):

· Polish Language Path:

o Requires B2 Polish proficiency, OR

o Start with a one-year preparatory course (minimum B1 required)

· English Language Path:

o Requires B2 English proficiency

o Includes a short Polish language and culture course

Eligible Nationalities:
Applicants from 37 eligible countries across regions such as Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Latin America can apply.

Selection Criteria:

· Academic performance (up to 70 points)

· Video self-presentation (30 points)

· Optional recommendation letter (10 points)

Minimum Requirement:

· At least 70 total points

· Minimum 50 points from academic performance
