This scholarship is offered through cooperation between the Government of Rwanda and the People’s Republic of China, facilitated by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and coordinated locally by the Higher Education Council (HEC) of Rwanda. The programme targets public servants and aims to strengthen capacity through advanced education in top Chinese universities.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

The scholarship provides full financial support, including:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

·       Must be a public servant in Rwanda

·       Must apply for a programme related to their previous academic background

·       Must meet admission requirements of the selected Chinese university

·       Must submit a complete application

The scholarship offers a wide range of Master’s and PhD programmes across 40 eligible universities in China, including:

·       Public Policy – Peking University

·       Public Administration (National Development) – Peking University

·       Doctoral Studies of National Development – Peking University

·       Industrial Engineering and Management – Hunan University

·       Artificial Intelligence – Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology

·       Software Engineering – Nankai University

·       Environmental Engineering – Suzhou University of Science and Technology

·       International Relations – China Foreign Affairs University

·       Electrical Engineering – Xi’an Jiaotong University

·       Public Health – Southern Medical University

·       Journalism and Communication – Communication University of China

·       International Business – Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics

·       Project Management – Yunnan University of Finance and Economics

·       Public Administration in Chinese Governance – Sun Yat-sen University

(Applicants must choose only one programme from the approved list.)

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants must submit the following:

·       Application letter addressed to the Director General of HEC

·       Copy of National ID or valid passport

·       Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)

·       One passport-size photograph

·       Notarized copies of academic certificates and transcripts

·       Personal statement (maximum 1,000 words)

·       One academic recommendation letter

·       One employer recommendation letter

·       Study plan or research proposal (minimum 500 words)
