Applications are now open for the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP), a prestigious opportunity for outstanding international students seeking to continue their studies at Swedish universities. SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS:
This scholarship is competitive as it holds a package of benefits of which include;

● Tuition Fees: Full coverage of tuition, paid directly to your Swedish university each semester.
● Living Allowance: A monthly stipend of SEK 12,000 for your living expenses during the study period.
● Travel Grant:
SEK 15,000 for most scholars.
SEK 10,000 for scholars from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. (This is a one-time payment and not available for students already residing in Sweden.)
● Professional Network: Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP) to support career growth and networking.
● Post-Scholarship Benefits: After completing your studies, you join the SI Alumni Network, offering continued networking and professional development opportunities.

WHAT THE SCHOLARSHIP DOES NOT COVER:

1. Insurance: Health or other insurance coverage is not included. Check with your university for insurance options.
2. Family Support: No additional financial support is provided for family members.
3. Application Fees: The scholarship does not cover the fee for applying through University Admissions.
4. Program Changes: You must complete the master’s program for which the scholarship was awarded; changes are not allowed.
5. Extensions: The scholarship duration cannot be extended or modified.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
For one to be eligible for the scholarship, the following should be fulfilled:

1. Citizenship
● You must be a citizen of one of the countries listed as eligible for the SISGP scholarship. These countries are primarily developing nations or transitional economies which are Armenia; Azerbaijan; Bangladesh; Bolivia; Belarus; Brazil; Cambodia; Cameroon; Colombia; Ecuador; Egypt; Ethiopia; Gambia; Georgia; Ghana; Guatemala; Honduras; Indonesia; Jordan; Kenya; Liberia; Malawi; Moldova; Morocco; Myanmar (Burma); Nepal; Nigeria; Pakistan; Peru; Philippines; Russian Federation; Rwanda; South Africa; Sri Lanka; Sudan; Tanzania; Tunisia; Uganda; Ukraine; Vietnam; Zambia; Zimbabwe.
● Dual citizens may apply if one citizenship meets the eligibility requirement.

2. Master's Program Admission
● You must apply for and be admitted to a full-time, eligible master’s program in Sweden starting in the academic year the scholarship is offered.
● The program must be listed as one of the eligible master's programs for SISGP (check the official program list).

3. Work Experience
● A minimum of 3,000 hours of work experience is required. This can include full-time or part-time employment, as well as internships and voluntary work.
● Work experience does not need to be related to your field of study.

4. Leadership Experience
● Demonstrated leadership experience from employment, voluntary work, or similar engagements. Leadership qualities can be shown through managing people, projects, or initiatives.

5. Alignment with Sustainable Development
● Your background and future goals should align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as the scholarship aims to support individuals contributing to sustainable development.

7. Residency Restrictions
● Applicants currently living in Sweden, or those who have lived there for more than two years previously, are not eligible.
● Scholarships are not available for students already enrolled in Swedish universities.

8. Financial Capability
● You should not have previously received a Swedish Institute scholarship for master’s level studies.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
To apply for this scholarship, prepare the following documents as they need to be submitted:

● Motivation Letter: A detailed letter explaining your goals, leadership experience, and how your studies will contribute to sustainable development. Use the provided SISGP template.
● Curriculum Vitae (CV): A CV (maximum of 3 pages) using the SISGP CV template. It must include your work experience, leadership roles, and other relevant activities.
● Proof of Work and Leadership Experience: A document certifying at least 3,000 hours of work experience. Use the official SISGP template, signed by an employer, supervisor, or organization leader. Leadership experience can include professional roles, volunteer work, or project management.
● Two Letters of Reference: Letters from two referees (e.g., employers, professors, or organization leaders). These must be written using the SISGP template and signed.
● Copy of Your Passport/National ID: A scanned copy of the page(s) showing your personal details and citizenship.
● Admission Letter: Proof that you are admitted to an eligible master's program in Sweden for the relevant academic year.
● English Proficiency Tests:
The scholarship itself does not require the proficiency test, but the universities that one is applying to require it. However, this is exempted for students who did their former degrees in English.
English Proficiency Tests accepted:
● IELTS (Academic): Typically, a minimum overall score of 6.5 is required, with no section below 5.5.
● TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 90, with at least 20 in writing.
● PTE Academic: Minimum score of 62.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
To apply for the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals, follow these steps:

Step 1: Apply for a Master’s Program
1. Visit the official University Admissions portal via click here
2. Choose from the list of eligible master's programs for the SISGP scholarship. Ensure that your program is eligible.
3. Submit your application for up to four master's programs before the deadline (usually mid-January).
4. Pay the application fee and complete all requirements for your master's application.

Step 2: Wait for Admission Results
1. You must be admitted to one of the eligible programs to qualify for the scholarship.
2. Admission results are announced by late March. If you're conditionally admitted, you are still eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Step 3: Submit the SISGP Scholarship Application
1. Visit the Swedish Institute Scholarships page click here
2. During the application period (early February to late February), complete your scholarship application online.
3. Upload the required documents (e.g., CV, motivation letter, work experience proof, reference letters, and passport) in the formats specified by the Swedish Institute.

Step 4: Await Results
1. Scholarship decisions are announced in April. If selected, you'll receive instructions to accept the scholarship offer.
2. If awarded, the scholarship covers tuition, living expenses, and travel grants for your studies.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:
The application deadlines for the Academic year 2025-2026 are:

● Apply for a master's program: October 15, 2024 to January 15, 2025
● Apply for a Global Professionals scholarship: February 10, 2025 to February 26, 2025
● SI screening and evaluation: February 27, 2025 to March 26, 2025
● Notifications from University Admissions: March 27, 2025
● Final evaluation and announcement of scholarship recipients: March 27, 2025, to April 24, 2025
