Mount Kigali University is inviting applications for fully funded undergraduate scholarships in Health Science programmes for the 2026 academic intake. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for the scholarship opportunities available in Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science and Bachelor of Dental Therapy programmes. The scholarship programme is offered by Mount Kigali University in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Rwanda under the Government of Rwanda’s 4x4 Strategy Initiative. The initiative is designed to strengthen the national healthcare system by increasing the number of qualified health professionals across the country.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

·        Must have completed general secondary education

·        Must have studied one of the following principal subject combinations:

o   Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB)

o   Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology (MCB)

o   Biology, Chemistry, and Geography (BCG)

·        Candidates must have obtained at least grades A, B, C, or D in both Biology and Chemistry

Additional Conditions:

·        Students currently benefiting from another government scholarship are not eligible

·        Graduates from other universities are not eligible for this scholarship

·        Any violation of the application requirements may lead to immediate disqualification and additional sanctions depending on the level of violation

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

The scholarship is available for the following undergraduate programmes:

1.      Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (4 Years)

2.      Bachelor of Dental Therapy (4 Years)

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants are required to prepare and submit the following documents:

·        High School Certificate

·        National ID

·        Passport-size photograph

·        Active Gmail account

·        Mobile phone number

All documents should be scanned clearly using a mobile phone scanning application such as CamScanner.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Step 1: Prepare Your Documents

·        Scan your High School Certificate and National ID using a mobile scanning application.

·        Take a passport-size photograph or ask someone to help you obtain one.

·        Save all the required documents on your phone and send them to your WhatsApp or email for easier access on a computer.

Step 2: Create an Application Account

·        Visit the Mount Kigali University Admission Portal to create an application account on the UNIRP system.

·        Fill in your full names in the correct order.

·        Select your country of origin.

·        Enter your valid Gmail address.

·        Click on “Send OTP” to verify your email.

Step 3: Verify Your Email Address

·        Open your Gmail account and check for the OTP email containing a 4-digit code.

·        If the message is not found in your inbox, check the SPAM folder.

·        Copy the OTP code and paste it into the “Email OTP” message box.

·        Click “Verify Email.”

·        A confirmation message will appear on your screen once verification is successful.

Step 4: Complete Registration

• Enter your mobile phone number.
• Create a password for your application account (Example: Application@123).
• Select your province and district.
• Tick the checkbox “I’m not a robot.”
• Click the “Register” button.
  
  

Step 5: Login and Apply

·        The system will automatically redirect you to the login page.

·        Enter the Gmail address used during registration.

·        Enter your password and click the “Login” button.

·        The system will take you to the application interface where all programmes are displayed.

·        Click on “All” and select “Undergraduate” to view all bachelor’s degree programmes.

·        In the course search box, type:

o   Dental Therapy

o   Medical Laboratory Sciences

·        The programme will appear immediately. Click on the “Apply” button.

Important Application Note

In the “Address Line 1” text box, applicants should indicate either:

·        APP-Dental Therapy

·        APP-Medical Laboratory Sciences

Applicants are advised to keep their application number safely after submission as it appears at the top side of the application form.

Applicants who experience difficulties during the application process may visit the Admission Office at Kicukiro Gate for assistance and should carry physical copies of their documents.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

·        Candidates who meet the minimum requirements will sit for an admission test scheduled for Monday, 18 May 2026.

·        Final scholarship selection will be based on admission test performance.

·        Selected beneficiaries will sign a contract with the Ministry of Health to ensure their integration into Rwanda’s healthcare system after graduation.

·        Beneficiaries will be required to serve for a designated period after graduation as part of the agreement.

·        There will be no binding refund contract.
