The Central University Hospital of Butare (CHUB) is seeking a qualified and motivated Medical Imaging Technologist to join its Diagnostic and Treatment Support Directorate. The successful candidate will play a key role in performing radiographic and imaging examinations, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high standards of imaging quality. This position also involves collaboration with medical teams to support accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and continuous improvement of imaging services within the hospital.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology or Medical Imaging (3 years relevant experience)

·       Advanced Diploma in Radiology or Medical Imaging (5 years relevant experience)

·       Valid registration certificate and professional license issued by the relevant medical council in Rwanda

·       Strong knowledge of clinical service procedures and Rwanda’s healthcare system

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Perform radiographic and medical imaging examinations

·       Ensure high-quality imaging standards for all patients

·       Apply radiation safety principles (justification, optimization, dose limits)

·       Maintain and inspect imaging equipment and perform quality assurance

·       Assist in complex imaging procedures under supervision of radiologists

·       Monitor patients before, during, and after imaging procedures

·       Provide emotional and physical support to patients

·       Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation

·       Ensure confidentiality and compliance with medical protocols

·       Participate in on-call services when required

·       Engage in continuous professional development and training

·       Maintain cleanliness, safety, and infection control standards in the department

·       Report technical faults and safety concerns
