CHUB is recruiting five (5) Medical Officers under contract at Level 4.III. Successful candidates will work under the supervision of the Consultant Doctor and Head of the Accident and Emergency Department, providing critical patient care and supporting specialized medical services.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

·       Hold a Bachelor's Degree in General Medicine.

·       Possess a valid registration certificate and license to practice medicine in Rwanda issued by the relevant professional council.

·       Be certified and graded as a Medical Officer by the professional council.

·       Provide proof of completion of the Public Service Agreement duration.

·       Have zero (0) years of relevant professional experience.

·       Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, accountability, and commitment to continuous learning.

·       Possess strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

·       Have good knowledge of the Rwanda Health System.

·       Demonstrate knowledge of anatomic pathology and clinical pathology.

·       Have basic computer literacy skills.

·       Understand research methodology, report writing, and publication processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

·       Providing patient care and supporting specialized doctors.

·       Promoting early and appropriate responses to patients according to triage times.

·       Resuscitating or stabilizing patients and referring them to appropriate medical departments.

·       Conducting preliminary diagnoses and determining treatment plans.

·       Assessing patients' medical, physical, and psychosocial conditions.

·       Performing regular ward rounds and monitoring patient progress.

·       Recording progress notes and maintaining patient records.

·       Ordering examinations, tests, medications, and therapies.

·       Writing prescriptions and ensuring patients receive prescribed medications.

·       Preparing admission notes, procedure notes, and progress reports.

·       Providing patient education and health counseling.

·       Ensuring quality healthcare services for in-patients.

·       Following up on ordered investigations and treatment outcomes.

·       Participating in ward bed management activities.

·       Contributing to departmental objectives and service improvement initiatives.

·       Submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to supervisors.

·       Performing any other duties assigned within their professional competence.
