The scholarship program is jointly supported by the European Union and the Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Republic of Slovakia. It is designed to attract exceptional international students to Slovak public higher education institutions, particularly in academic fields that contribute to Slovakia’s national development. Successful applicants may also benefit from tuition fee waivers, health insurance, and assistance with visa and residence procedures.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful applicants will receive:

·       Scholarship grant of up to €15,000

·       Monthly stipend of €500 for 10 months in each academic year

·       Possible tuition fee waiver at selected Slovak public universities

·       Health insurance in accordance with Slovak legislation

·       Support with visa and residence permit procedures

·       Opportunity to study in one of Europe's safe and beautiful countries

·       Access to internationally recognized higher education institutions

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must:

·       Be citizens of any country outside Slovakia.

·       Have no permanent or temporary residence in Slovakia since 1 January 2020 (except where official exemptions apply).

·       Not have previously studied at a Slovak higher education institution or secondary school, except for approved exceptions such as Erasmus+ exchanges or Slovaks living abroad.

·       Have completed secondary education when applying for a Bachelor's degree.

·       Hold a Bachelor's degree when applying for a Master's degree.

·       Apply for a full-time, on-campus study program at a Slovak public higher education institution.

·       Obtain a minimum SAT score of 1100.

·       Meet any additional admission requirements of the selected university.

·       Applicants under the age of 18 must provide guardian consent.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

The scholarship supports full-time studies in selected priority fields at Slovak public universities, including:

·       Bachelor's Degree Programs

·       Master's Degree Programs

Programs are offered in disciplines that support Slovakia's economic, technological, scientific, and social development.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants should prepare the following documents:

·       Valid passport or national identity card

·       SAT test result with a minimum score of 1100

·       Structured Curriculum Vitae (CV)

·       Motivation letter

·       Admission letter from a Slovak higher education institution (if available)

·       Signed declarations regarding residence and academic history

·       Certificates of participation in mobility programs (where applicable)

·       Guardian consent for applicants under 18 years of age

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Interested applicants should follow these steps:

1.     Visit the official Slovakia Scholarships application portal.

2.     Register for an online applicant account.

3.     Complete the online scholarship application form.

4.     Upload all required supporting documents.

5.     Submit the application electronically before 31 July 2026 at 23:59 CET.

6.     Ensure the application is submitted exclusively through the online portal, as applications sent by email will not be accepted.

7.     Please note that receiving the scholarship does not automatically guarantee admission to a Slovak higher education institution. Applicants must still satisfy the university's admission requirements.
