The successful candidates will support the implementation of a large-scale forest and landscape restoration initiative in Nyungwe National Park, contributing to the rehabilitation of degraded indigenous forests while promoting climate resilience in Rwanda's Congo Nile Divide region.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

·       Must be a Rwandan citizen.

·       Hold a Certificate (A2) or Diploma (A1) in Forestry, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture, or a related field.

·       Have at least 6 months of practical experience in forest restoration or natural resource management.

·       Experience supervising or leading field teams is an added advantage.

·       Previous experience with Assisted Natural Forest Regeneration (ANFR) in Nyungwe National Park is an added advantage.

·       Demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

·       Possess practical knowledge of assisted natural forest restoration techniques.

·       Be physically fit to work in remote forest restoration sites under varying weather conditions.

·       Be willing to spend extended periods (approximately 20 days) in remote field locations.

·       Provide a valid medical report and criminal record certificate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

·       Leading daily Assisted Natural Forest Regeneration (ANFR) activities.

·       Supervising and coordinating field workers.

·       Ensuring restoration activities comply with technical guidelines and environmental standards.

·       Assigning tasks and monitoring team performance.

·       Providing leadership, coaching, and on-the-job training to field teams.

·       Promoting teamwork, discipline, safety, and professional conduct.

·       Collecting field data, including GPS coordinates, seedling counts, and growth monitoring.

·       Preparing and submitting regular field reports.

·       Reporting operational challenges and field observations.

·       Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.

·       Monitoring the proper use of tools and equipment while minimizing workplace risks.
