The scholarship is hosted by North Dakota State University (NDSU) through its School of Natural Resource Sciences (SNRS). The research project is funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the North Dakota Natural Resources Trust, providing students with the opportunity to work alongside experienced researchers, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty members on an important conservation project in North Dakota's Badlands.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful applicants will receive:

·       Full funding for a Master's research assistantship.

·       Annual salary of US$25,000.

·       Full-time research position (40 hours per week).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must:

·       Hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

·       Demonstrate a strong work ethic and motivation for research.

·       Possess a valid driver's license.

·       Be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and walk more than 2 miles over rough terrain.

·       Have excellent communication and professional skills.

·       Be willing to interact with ranchers and conservation professionals.

·       Experience in plant identification, vegetation sampling, and scientific writing is an added advantage.

The scholarship supports:

• Master of Science (MS) in Natural Resource Sciences (Research Assistantship)

Research Focus:

·       Forage production response to juniper removal.

·       Rangeland conservation and management.

·       Juniper encroachment research.

·       Grassland ecosystem restoration.
