The Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) is looking for a Human Resources and International Students Officer to join its team. This role involves managing staff-related tasks such as hiring, training, and supporting employees while ensuring that HR policies are followed. Additionally, the officer will assist international students by helping them settle into the university, providing guidance on academic and personal matters, and ensuring they comply with immigration requirements.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
the eligibility criteria for the Human Resources and International Students Officer job at the Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR):
• Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience in human resources, student affairs, or international student support, preferably in a university setting.
• Skills:
1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Knowledge of HR policies, recruitment, and performance management.
3. Ability to assist international students with academic and personal needs.
4. Familiarity with immigration procedures and student visa processes.
• Language: Proficiency in English and French; knowledge of Kinyarwanda is a plus.
• Other Requirements: High level of professionalism, problem-solving ability, and a passion for working in a diverse academic environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Human Resources Management Responsibilities
• Help senior management apply HR policies and procedures.
• Create and enforce HR policies on hiring, promotions, and discipline.
• Oversee staff recruitment, from job ads to final hiring.
• Promote equality, diversity, and staff training.
• Plan HR strategies to meet short- and long-term staffing needs.
• Advise on salaries, benefits, and employment laws.
• Manage employee records, contracts, and confirmations.
• Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and legal HR matters.
• Ensure a safe and well-equipped work environment.
• Organize staff inductions, exits, and social activities.
2. International Office Responsibilities
• Facilitate the recruitment of international students.
• Address queries from international students and process equivalency certifications.
• Collaborate with the Dean of Students on matters concerning international student welfare.
• Maintain up-to-date records of international students.
• Represent PUR at recruitment fairs.
• Coordinate staff and student mobility programs.
• Organize cultural events promoting inclusivity and celebrating diversity in collaboration with the Dean of Students.
• Initiate and follow up on partnerships with universities, research institutions, and organizations worldwide, connecting them to relevant PUR units based on the partnership domains.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
