Applications are now open for the 2027–2028 Chevening Scholarships, one of the world's most prestigious fully funded international scholarship programmes. Eligible candidates from Chevening-eligible countries are invited to apply for the opportunity to pursue a one-year master's degree at a leading university in the United Kingdom. Chevening Scholarships are funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in partnership with various organisations. The programme aims to develop outstanding future leaders by equipping them with world-class education, professional networks, and the skills needed to create lasting impact in their home countries.

 

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive scholarship package, including:

 

·       Full tuition fees for an eligible UK master's degree.

·       Monthly living allowance.

·       Travel costs to and from the United Kingdom.

·       Arrival and departure allowances.

·       Cost of one visa application.

·       Access to exclusive networking, leadership, and professional development opportunities.

·       Membership in the global Chevening alumni network after graduation. 

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship, applicants must:

 

·       Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.

·       If applying through an ODA-eligible country, be resident in an ODA-eligible country and demonstrate a clear intention to contribute to that country after completing the scholarship.

·       Commit to returning to their home country for at least two years after completing the scholarship.

·       Have completed an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for admission to a UK master's programme.

·       Have at least two years (2,800 hours) of post-undergraduate work experience.

·       Apply to three eligible UK master's degree programmes.

·       Obtain an unconditional offer from at least one of the selected courses before the required deadline. Join our Coaching class for the Duolingo English Test

 

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

Applicants may choose from a wide range of eligible full-time taught master's degree programmes offered by universities across the United Kingdom.

Eligible programmes must:

 

·       Be full-time.

·       Begin in the autumn intake (September/October).

·       Lead to a master's degree qualification.

·       Be completed within 9–12 months.

·       Be based entirely in the United Kingdom.

 

The scholarship supports master's programmes across virtually all academic disciplines, provided the chosen courses meet Chevening eligibility requirements. Join our Coaching class for the Duolingo English Test

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants should prepare the following before submitting their application:

 

·       Valid email address and phone number.

·       Undergraduate degree information.

·       Details of at least three eligible UK master's course choices.

·       Evidence of work experience.

·       Well-written responses to the Chevening application essay questions covering:

 

o   Leadership and influencing skills.

o   Networking skills.

o   Study in the UK.

o   Career plan and future impact.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1.     Confirm that you meet the Chevening eligibility requirements.

2.     Research and select three eligible UK master's degree programmes.

3.     Prepare your application responses, highlighting your leadership, networking experience, career goals, and reasons for your chosen course.

4.     Complete and submit the online Chevening Scholarship application before the deadline.

5.     Apply separately for admission to your selected UK universities.

6.     Secure an unconditional offer from at least one eligible course within the required timeline.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

·       Chevening also offers Chevening Fellowships, which are short-term professional development programmes designed for mid-career professionals seeking to enhance their expertise and leadership in specific fields.

·       Individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements for a Chevening Scholarship may wish to explore Chevening Fellowships if they are available in their country.

·       Partner-funded scholarship awards are also available, and some receive fewer applications, potentially increasing an applicant's chances of selection.
