ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Eligibility requirements vary depending on the position. Applicants should carefully review the specific qualifications and experience required for their preferred role.
For the Full Stack Software Engineer position, applicants should generally have:
· A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
· At least three (3) years of professional full-stack development experience.
· Experience delivering microservices-based solutions.
· Strong knowledge of modern software development technologies and practices.
· A portfolio or GitHub demonstrating high-quality production work.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills.
For the Specialist, Data Analyst position, candidates should have relevant academic qualifications and professional experience in data analysis, database management, data platforms, ETL, reporting, and analytics. Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Python and Bash is also relevant.
Candidates applying for other positions should meet the specific academic, technical, and professional requirements stated in the respective job descriptions.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS
The Development Bank of Rwanda (BRD) is recruiting for the following positions:
1. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Specialist
2. DevOps Engineer
3. Specialist, Data Analyst
4. Quality Assurance Engineer
1. Full Stack Software Engineer
All positions are based within BRD and offer an opportunity to contribute to the Bank’s digital transformation, operational excellence, and broader development mandate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities depend on the position. Key responsibilities for some of the advertised roles include:
Full Stack Software Engineer
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
· Designing, developing, testing, and deploying web applications using Next.js and Nest.js.
· Designing and implementing microservices architectures.
· Developing scalable, secure, and independently deployable services.
· Designing REST and/or GraphQL APIs and supporting inter-service communication.
· Writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
· Developing responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.
· Applying AI-assisted development tools and integrating AI/LLM capabilities where appropriate.
· Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerization, and monitoring.
· Participating in Agile activities, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.
Specialist, Data Analyst
The Specialist, Data Analyst will be responsible for:
· Conducting data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
· Working with stakeholders to define data requirements and develop data solutions.
· Designing reports, dashboards, and analytics outputs.
· Managing and optimizing database structures and data models.
· Monitoring database performance and resolving technical issues.
· Supporting database backups, replication, availability, and security.
· Performing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
· Supporting data integration across the Bank’s systems and external partners.
· Using Python, Bash, and other programming skills to automate data-related activities.
· Supporting process improvement and automation initiatives.
Other Positions
The Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Specialist, DevOps Engineer, and Quality Assurance Engineer will perform responsibilities related to their respective areas of expertise, supporting BRD’s operational effectiveness, technology infrastructure, software quality, monitoring and evaluation, and digital transformation objectives.
