East African Christian College (EACC) is inviting applications for funded undergraduate scholarships in Nursing and Midwifery for eligible candidates. The scholarships cover tuition fees only and are available for the 2026/2027 academic intake.

The scholarship is offered by EACC in collaboration with the Rwanda Ministry of Health (MOH) under the framework of supporting the 4x4 Strategy. Shortlisted applicants will be required to sit for an admission test before the final selection of scholarship beneficiaries.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Selected candidates will receive:

·       Tuition fee coverage for the undergraduate Nursing or Midwifery program.

·       Opportunity to study at East African Christian College.

·       Successful scholarship beneficiaries will sign a contract with the Ministry of Health (MOH) for absorption into the health workforce after graduation.

·       Beneficiaries will be required to serve for a minimum period after graduation, as specified in the MOH contract.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

a) For applicants who completed A-Level before 2024

Applicants must have:

·       Two principal passes with at least Grade C in Biology and Chemistry.

·       They must not have an F in Mathematics, Physics, or Geography.

b) For applicants who completed A-Level from 2024 onwards

·       Two principal passes with at least Grade E in Biology and Chemistry.

Required A-Level combinations

Applicants must have completed general secondary education (A-Level) with one of the following principal subject combinations:

·       Physics – Chemistry – Biology (PCB)

·       Mathematics – Chemistry – Biology (MCB)

·       Biology – Chemistry – Geography (BCG)

A2 Nurses

A2 Nurses are also eligible if they have:

·       A minimum score of 70%; and

·       At least two years of work experience.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

The scholarships are available for the following four-year undergraduate programs:

1.     Bachelor of Science in General Nursing with Honours

2.     Bachelor of Science in Midwifery with Honours

Applicants are required to submit the following documents through the EACC online application portal:

·       S6 Certificate

·       National ID or Passport

·       Personal telephone number

A2 Nurse applicants should also have evidence supporting their eligibility, including their 70% minimum result and two years of work experience, where applicable.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1. Access the EACC scholarship application portal at the bottom of this page.
2. Submit the application before the deadline.
3. Wait for the shortlisting results.
4. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for an admission test on a date that will be communicated by EACC.

The final selection of scholarship beneficiaries will be based on admission test performance and the number of available scholarship places.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The scholarship is part of the collaboration between East African Christian College and the Ministry of Health in support of Rwanda's 4x4 health workforce strategy.

Applicants who are selected for the scholarship will be required to sign a contract with the Ministry of Health. The contract will provide for their absorption into the health workforce after graduation and require them to serve for a specified minimum period.
