Kibogora Polytechnic (KP) is inviting eligible and qualified candidates to apply for funded scholarships for the September 2026–2027 academic intake. The scholarships are available for students interested in pursuing undergraduate studies in the Bachelor of Science in General Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Midwifery. The scholarship opportunity is offered by Kibogora Polytechnic in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, within the framework of the Government of Rwanda's 4x4 Strategy initiative. The initiative aims to support the development of skilled health professionals and strengthen the country's healthcare workforce.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful applicants will receive a funded scholarship to pursue their studies in one of the eligible health programs at Kibogora Polytechnic.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following general requirements:

·       Have completed secondary education and meet the relevant admission requirements.

·       Be medically fit and ready to follow the nursing or midwifery training programme on a full-time basis.

·       Provide all required application documents.

·       Successfully meet the programme-specific academic requirements.

·       Sit for and successfully compete in the required admission test.

Academic Admission Requirements

For candidates who completed secondary school from 2024 onwards:

·       Have an overall average of at least 60%.

·       Have at least an E grade in both Biology and Chemistry.

For candidates who completed Senior Six before 2024:

·       Have obtained at least two principal passes.

·       Have at least a C grade in both Biology and Chemistry.

For applicants who completed an Associate Nursing Programme in secondary education after 2023:

·       Have an overall average of at least 60%.

·       Have at least an E grade in both Biology and Chemistry, or

·       Have at least an E grade in both Fundamentals of Nursing and Clinical Attachment.

For applicants who completed a Nursing Programme before 2008 (formerly A2 Nursing):

Applicants must hold a valid license to practice issued by the National Council of Nurses and Midwives (NCNM) and have obtained at least a C+ in:

·       Fundamentals of Nursing;

·       Introduction to Anesthesia; and

·       Practical Examination.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

The funded scholarships are available for the following undergraduate programmes:

·       Bachelor of Science in General Nursing

·       Bachelor of Science in Midwifery

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

·       Senior Six (S6) Certificate;

·       National Identification Card (ID).

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Interested and eligible candidates should follow these steps:

1. Complete the online scholarship application at the bottom of this page .
2. Upload the required documents, including the S6 Certificate and National ID.
3. Submit the application before the deadline.
4. Eligible applicants will be invited to sit for an admission test.
5. Final scholarship beneficiaries will be selected based on their admission test performance and compliance with all entry requirements.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All eligible applicants will be required to sit for an admission test. The final selection of scholarship beneficiaries will be based on the applicant's performance in the admission test and compliance with the programme entry requirements.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The application period runs from 29 August 2026 to 12 September 2026.
