The scholarship is offered by The University of Queensland as part of its Academic Scholarship program. Established in 2009, the scholarship is funded by UQ and its donors and recognizes outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful recipients of the UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship will receive:

·       AUD $12,000 per year.

·       Financial support toward undergraduate study at The University of Queensland.

·       The opportunity to study at one of Australia’s leading universities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must:

·       Achieve a minimum unadjusted ATAR of 99.90 or equivalent.

·       Complete Year 12 in 2026, or in 2025 if taking a gap year.

·       Be an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder, Australian permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or an international student who is completing or has completed Years 11 and 12 in Australia.

·       Have no previous tertiary study, except study completed as part of Years 11–12, such as the Enhanced Studies Program.

·       Apply for a tertiary place through QTAC.

·       List The University of Queensland as the first QTAC preference by 12:00 pm on 21 December 2026.

·       Intend to enrol as a full-time student in an eligible UQ undergraduate program in 2027, or in 2028 if deferring the tertiary place.

The scholarship supports eligible undergraduate programs at The University of Queensland.

Applicants should check the university's undergraduate program offerings to identify a course that matches their academic interests and eligibility.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants will need to provide:

·       QTAC application number.

·       Evidence of their most outstanding achievements from Years 11 and 12.

·       Evidence demonstrating achievements in leadership and community service.

·       Any other information required through the official UQ scholarship application system.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1.     Apply for a tertiary place through QTAC.

2.     Ensure that The University of Queensland is your first QTAC preference by the required date.

3.     Prepare evidence of your academic, leadership, and community-service achievements.

4.     Complete the UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship application through the official UQ application portal.

5.     Submit the application before the scholarship deadline.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship is highly competitive and is designed to recognize students with exceptional academic performance as well as strong leadership and community-service achievements.

International applicants should note that being an international student alone does not make them eligible. Under the stated criteria, international students must be completing or have completed Years 11 and 12 in Australia.

Applicants are also required to meet UQ's admission requirements for their chosen undergraduate program. Scholarship applicants should ensure that all information and supporting evidence submitted is accurate and complete.
