The Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health through France Expertise under the 4X4 Strategy, is pleased to offer fully funded scholarships for the Bachelor of Science with Honors in Midwifery (Ao) and tuition-funded scholarships for the Bachelor of Science with Honors in General Nursing (Ao).

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS :

• Bachelor of Science with Honors in Midwifery (Ao) – Fully funded scholarship covering tuition, accommodation, and other study-related costs.

• Bachelor of Science with Honors in General Nursing (Ao) – Scholarship covering tuition fees only (students will need to cover other expenses such as accommodation and personal costs).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
To apply, students must meet one of the following requirements:

1. Academic Qualifications:
• Must have two principal passes with at least a Grade C in Biology and Chemistry.
• Must have completed general secondary education with one of these subject combinations:

Physics - Chemistry – Biology
Mathematics - Chemistry – Biology
Biology - Chemistry - Geography

2. For A2 Nurses:

• Must have at least 70% in their studies.
• Must have at least two years of work experience.
• Must hold a valid nursing license.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS
The Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) offers these undergraduate programs :

• Midwifery (A0): Train to assist in childbirth and care for mothers and babies.
• Nursing (A0): Learn to care for patients in various healthcare settings.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
The required documents for the Bachelor of Science with Honors in Midwifery and Bachelor of Science with Honors in General Nursing programs for the 2025 academic year are:

• National Exam Scores: Official results from national examinations or equivalent assessments.
• Identification: A copy of your National ID or passport.
• colored passport photo

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
There are three ways to apply to CUR. You can choose the one that works best for you:

1. Online Application Portal: Open the application link given at the bottom of this page to submit your application documents (S6 Certificate and ID/Passport) online.

2. Email Submission: You can also email your application documents to email: catholic.university.rwanda@cur.ac.rw

3. Hard Copy Submission: If you prefer, you can submit your documents in person to the CUR Secretariat’s office at the main campus in Taba, Ngoma Sector, Huye District.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

1. Candidates who meet the mentioned requirements will take an admission test on March 14, 2025.

2. The final selection of scholarship recipients will be based on their admission test scores.

3. Final selected students to benefit the scholarships will sign a contract agreement with MoH to ensure their absorption into the health system after they graduate, which they will be required to serve for a minimum period of time.

4. These scholarships target students who have graduated from senior six or its equivalent in the School year 2022-2023 and years before. Those who graduated in the school year 2023-2024, are NOT eligible to apply.

5. Bachelor of Science with Honors in both Midwifery (Ao) and General Nursing (A0) is a 4-year full-time program. Prospective students who are working may not be eligible for admission unless they terminate their current employment.

6. Students currently receiving another scholarship funded by the Government or its partners, or those who have graduated from other university-level programs, are not eligible to apply. Any violation of these application requirements will result in immediate disqualification upon discovery, with potential additional sanctions depending on the level of the violation.
