The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is offering scholarships to international students for the academic year 2025-2026. SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
1. Living Allowance (Stipend) per month:
• Undergraduate: ₹18,000
• Postgraduate: ₹20,000
• M.Phil/Ph.D.: ₹22,000
• Post-doctoral Fellow: ₹25,000
2. House Rent Allowance per month:
• In Grade 1 cities: ₹6,500
• In other cities: ₹5,500
3. Contingent Grant per annum:
• Undergraduate: ₹5,000
• Postgraduate: ₹7,000
• M.Phil/Ph.D. and M.Tech./ME: ₹12,500
• Postdoctoral Studies: ₹15,500
4. Tuition and Other Compulsory Fees: Covered as per actuals (excluding refundable amounts)
5. Thesis and Dissertation Expenses (once during the course):
• Ph.D. Scholar: ₹10,000
• For BBA/BCA/MBA/MCA/M.Tech and other courses requiring submission of a project: ₹7,000
6. Medical Benefits: Scholars should seek treatment at designated medical centers or dispensaries attached to universities/institutes.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Age Requirement: Applicants should be between 18 and 30 years old for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. For Ph.D. programs, the maximum age is 50 years.
• Academic Qualifications: Applicants must have the necessary educational qualifications for the course they are applying to. For example, candidates for undergraduate courses should have completed their secondary education.
• English Proficiency: Since the medium of instruction is English, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. This can be through a 500-word essay in English or standardized tests like TOEFL/IELTS.
• Specific Course Requirements: For certain courses, specific subjects may be required. For instance, candidates applying for B.Sc. and B.E./B.Tech courses should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in their school leaving examinations.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS
The ICCR scholarships cover a wide range of disciplines at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Applicants can choose from various fields of study, including but not limited to:

• Indian Culture (such as dance, music, theater, sculpture, Indian languages, Indian cuisine, etc.)

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants need to submit the following documents:
• Recent passport-size photograph (3.5x4.5 cm) with white background
• Copies of all academic qualifications, certificates, and mark sheets, including school leaving certificates
• A certificate of physical fitness in the prescribed form
• Recommendations or character certificates from current school/university
• Certified copies of relevant passport pages showing photograph, name, contact details, date of issue, date of expiry, and place of issue
• A 500-word essay in English to assess English proficiency
• For Ph.D. applicants: A synopsis of the proposed area of research
NOTE: All documents must be in English. If originals are in another language, certified English translations must be provided.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
1. Online Registration: Applicants must register and apply online through the ICCR Scholarship Portal below.
2. University Selection: Applicants can choose up to five universities/institutes in order of preference. Before applying, it is advisable to visit the respective university websites to check available courses, eligibility criteria, and general information.
3. Document Upload: Complete the application form and upload all required documents as specified.
4. Submission: Review the application thoroughly before submission to ensure all information is accurate and complete.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Eligible Countries: The ICCR scholarships are open to students from various countries worldwide. For a comprehensive list of eligible countries, please refer to the ICCR Scholarship Portal.
• Medical Courses: ICCR does not offer scholarships for courses in medicine or dentistry.
• Accommodation: While the scholarship provides a house-rent allowance, accommodation arrangements are the responsibility of the student. Some universities may offer hostel facilities.
