INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT THE INTER-UNIVERSITY COUNCIL FOR EAST AFRICA (IUCEA)
The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) is inviting students from its member universities to apply for the 2024/25 internship program. This internship offers students a chance to gain valuable experience in different departments at the IUCEA Secretariat in Kampala, Uganda. The program lasts between three (3) to six (6) months and provides a monthly transport facilitation of 150 US Dollars.
IUCEA is a key institution of the East African Community (EAC), responsible for improving higher education and promoting research in the region. The organization helps universities in East Africa connect with each other and with institutions worldwide. It also ensures that education standards in the region meet international levels to promote global competitiveness.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
To qualify for the IUCEA internship program, applicants must:
• Be enrolled in at least the second year of a bachelor’s degree program or be a master’s degree student at a member university.
• Have a recommendation letter from their university.
• Be skilled in using standard computer software applications.
• Knowledge of English is required. Knowing Kiswahili or French is an advantage.
• No previous work experience is required.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
Internship positions are available in the following departments:
• Accounts
• Human Resources and Administration (Records Management)
• Quality Assurance
• Public Relations and Communication
• Executive Secretary’s Office
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interns will:
• Complete tasks assigned by their supervisor.
• Help organize meetings and manage logistics.
• Attend meetings and support with report writing.
• Assist with other tasks as required by the supervisor.
Interns must follow IUCEA rules, maintain professional conduct, and submit a report on their internship experience at the end of the program.
