Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) is inviting qualified, hardworking, and interested professionals to apply for several job opportunities in technical, broadcasting, engineering, and infrastructure-related positions. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the specific academic qualifications and experience requirements for their chosen position:

·       TV Engineers: At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Practical experience in broadcast systems and technical maintenance is required.

·       Energy Technician: Relevant qualifications and technical experience in electrical power, energy systems, maintenance, and related facilities.

·       Site Operators: Diploma (A1) in Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer Science, or Electricity, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

·       Video Mixer: Relevant qualifications and practical knowledge of television production, video mixing, and live broadcasting operations.

·       Manager of RBA Production & Transmission Infrastructure: Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications or Computer Science, with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

·       Planning Engineer: Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or another related field.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

TV Engineers

·       Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test, and commission TV studio systems.

·       Maintain cameras, vision mixers, audio consoles, intercoms, monitors, recording systems, graphics systems, routers, and related equipment.

·       Provide technical support during live broadcasts, news programmes, and special events.

·       Diagnose video, audio, synchronization, signal distribution, and communication faults.

·       Maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, equipment inventories, and fault reports.

·       Support studio upgrades, modernization, and migration to IP-based broadcasting systems.

·       Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance and recommend equipment upgrades where necessary.

Energy Technician

·       Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical power and distribution systems.

·       Maintain electrical panels, circuit breakers, cables, lighting circuits, and related installations.

·       Conduct electrical testing and measurements.

·       Identify electrical faults, overloads, damaged cables, and other safety risks.

·       Support electrical installation, modification, and upgrading works.

Site Operators

·       Operate and monitor FM, DTV, and other transmission equipment.

·       Monitor transmitter parameters, alarms, power levels, temperatures, and equipment conditions.

·       Conduct routine checks of transmitters, UPS systems, generators, air-conditioning systems, and power supplies.

·       Report equipment failures, signal interruptions, and other incidents.

·       Maintain daily operation logs and prepare equipment and site status reports.

·       Conduct physical inspections of transmitter sites and associated facilities.

Video Mixer

·       Verify video sources before they are used.

·       Operate vision mixing equipment during live, recorded, and pre-recorded programmes.

·       Combine images from cameras, VTRs, playout machines, graphics generators, DVE, and other sources.

·       Apply appropriate transitions and visual effects according to the director's requirements.

·       Work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-camera production environment.

·       Monitor programme quality and prepare shift and weekly reports.

Manager of RBA Production & Transmission Infrastructure

·       Manage and maintain inventories of audiovisual, IT, and broadcasting assets.

·       Monitor equipment obsolescence and replacement requirements.

·       Coordinate technical and logistics departments in infrastructure planning.

·       Contribute to annual budgeting and technical infrastructure reporting.

·       Coordinate equipment deployment for outside broadcasting events.

·       Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Planning Engineer

·       Plan broadcasting infrastructure projects and determine appropriate methods and sequences of work.

·       Monitor projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety standards.

·       Coordinate logistics, resources, and technical activities.

·       Develop and plan new RBA projects.

·       Monitor and evaluate project implementation.

·       Follow up on technical contracts and works.

·       Monitor developments in broadcasting technology and advise the institution accordingly.
