The scholarship program is offered by Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology, an initiative of Rwanda Girls Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls through quality education, leadership development, and opportunities to achieve their full potential. The academy provides a supportive environment where students from diverse backgrounds learn, grow, and prepare to become future leaders.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful applicants may receive financial support that helps cover the cost of attending Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology.

The scholarship program aims to:

·       Provide access to quality secondary education for academically talented girls.

·       Support students from families who cannot afford full tuition fees.

·       Offer a challenging academic environment with experienced teachers.

·       Develop students’ leadership skills, talents, and community impact abilities.

·       Prepare students for university education and future career opportunities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

·       Be a female student eligible to join secondary education at Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology.

·       Demonstrate strong academic potential and commitment to learning.

·       Have completed Senior 1, Senior 2, and Senior 3 studies.

·       Show leadership potential, extracurricular involvement, talents, or community engagement.

·       Be interested in studying in an all-girls learning environment focused on excellence and leadership.

·       Be willing to improve English speaking, writing, and reading skills.

·       Students whose families cannot afford full tuition fees are encouraged to apply for financial aid.

Admission decisions are based on:

·       Senior 1 to Senior 3 school reports.

·       Quality of responses provided in the application essays.

·       Senior 3 National Examination results.

·       Leadership potential, extracurricular activities, talents, and skills.

Students admitted to GGAST can choose from different subject combinations, including:

·       PCM: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

·       MCB: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology

·       PCB: Physics, Chemistry, Biology

·       MPC: Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science

·       MPG: Mathematics, Physics, Geography

·       MCE: Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics

·       MEG: Mathematics, Economics, Geography

The 2026/2027 application form also highlights the following available streams:

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants must submit the following documents:

1.     Copy of the applicant’s birth certificate.

2.     Copies of parents’ or guardians’ national identity cards.

3.     Notarized copies of Senior 1, Senior 2, and Senior 3 school report cards.

4.     Two passport-size photographs.

5.     Completed application form with all required sections filled in.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Applicants should follow these steps:

2.     Submit the completed forms:

Option 1: Drop the application form at the Gashora Girls Academy campus in Bugesera.

Option 2: Drop the application form at UTC (Kwa Rujugiro mu Mugi), Shop Number 3.4 (T-KAY Investment).
